Call for Nominations 2008

 

The WNA Nominating Committee has called for member suggestions for the 2008 elections. In 2008, members will elect (click on office for description):

Nominations must be received with a bio and declaration of office in which you are interested in obtaining. Click on the above elected office title to find out the duties of that office. All Nominations are due to WVNA and need to postmarked by October 6, 2008.

Both the nominator and nominee for the WVNA 2008 elections must be WVNA members in good standing. Call WVNA at 304-342-1169 if you would like more information on any of these positions.

 

 

 

President: shall be a chairperson of the General Assembly, the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, representative to ANA Constituent Assembly, and ex-officio member of all committees except the Nominating Committee.

 

1st Vice President: shall assume all the duties of the president in the president's absence and shall serve as a board liaison for committee chairs, a member of both the Health Planning and Legislation Committee and WVN-PAC.

 

Treasurer: shall be chairperson of the Finance Committee, shall be accountable for the fiscal affairs of the WVNA and shall provide reports and interpretation of WVNA's financial condition, as may be required to the General Assembly, the Board of Directors, the membership and the Committee of Presidents and shall also serve as a member of the Planning Committee for Unity Day and the Annual Meeting.

 

ANA House of Delegates: shall represent the West Virginia Nurses Association as a Delegate to the American Nurses Association House of Delegates to be held in June 2010.

 

WV Center for Nursing Board Representative: The WV Center for Nursing Board Representative is not an elective office of the West Virginia Nurses Association; it is an appointed position from the Governor of the State of West Virginia based upon recommendations from the West Virginia Nurses Association. One member of the Center for Nursings' Board of Directors must be a representative from the West Virginia Nurses Association. Applicants for this position must turn in their resumes in accordance with the West Virginia Nurses Association's call for nomination and three finalists will be selected by the West Virginia Nurses Association's Board of Directors and forwarded to the Office of the Governor of the State of West Virginia for his consideration for appointment.

 

E&GW Chair: shall chair all meetings of the Commission; serve on the UAN National Labor Cabinet, attend special meetings of the UAN as needed.

 

E&GW Vice Chair: shall assume all duties of the Chairperson in the Chairperson's absence.

 

E&GW Secretary: shall be accountable for record keeping, reporting of meetings and notification of meetings.

 

E&GW Treasurer: shall be accountable for the fiscal affairs of the E&GW Commission and shall provide reports as needed to the the appropriate parties at the annual meeting.
